GAVSA — San Antonio Volunteer Support Group

Strengthening the community response in La Guaira.

Luis Itanare has supported affected communities since the first week after the earthquake and is now organizing a formal volunteer network in San Antonio. The funds went toward the purchase of a pickup truck to transport supplies and essential goods, which will also be available to the other organizations supported by this fundraiser.

Its usefulness will be reviewed after one year; if it is no longer needed, it will be sold and the proceeds distributed among three community assistance organizations in La Guaira.

Living and caring after the earthquake.

Provides direct support to women, children, and families who lost their homes, distributing essential supplies and running art and well-being workshops for children and adolescents in shelters as spaces for support and emotional recovery.

Impact: 310 children received meals during the workshops, and 310 backpacks with personal hygiene kits were delivered.

Funds were allocated to cover medical and mobility needs, sustain the work of rescuers and volunteers, and respond to individual cases of families affected by the earthquake.

Provides food, water, and direct support to children and families in La Guaira affected by the earthquake, organizing community meal days and activities for the children’s well-being and recreation.
